Standard client types
CAD Editor
Compatible with SOLIDWORKS, DWG/DXF, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel files. All file formats supported by the Office plug-in behave the same way in SOLIDWORKS PDM Standard, with the exception of Preview.
Contributor
Compatible with SOLIDWORKS, DWG/DXF, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel files.
Viewer
Provides read-only access to file vaults. The user can perform file transitions via a workflow, but cannot add or modify files (check out, check in, update values).
Professional client types
CAD Editor & Web
Supports working with all file types, including CAD files. However, CAD add-ins are not supported by this client type. Remote users can search vaults and perform basic functions over the Internet using Web clients.
